  • Wrigley releases Candy Sports for Android

    Overview

We’ve always been taught not to play with our food, but what about candy? Candy Sports is a new Android Game from the folks at Wrigley that makes it fun to play with food and you won’t even have to deal with the mess when you’re done.

Candy Sports lets you hit the field and the court as you try and smash homers, kick field goals, and sink buckets.  Skittles baseball lets you swing for the fences; you’ll have to hit 5 homers to advance to the next round and you’ll get 5 levels. Starburst Football lets you kick a pigskin through the uprights, and basketball lets you shoot hoops; all three games have the same hit 5 to advance rule and it looks like you’ll get a total of 5 levels of play through the 3 games. The games all get progressively harder as you go; you’ll start …

  • 5 Great New Building Games for Android

Building Games are quiet popular, and there are many choices out there to choose from. With that in mind we’ve created a list of the 5 New Building Games that may have slipped under your radar. Whether you want to play with Dinosaurs, go underwater, or build habitats for Monsters we’ve got you covered.

    1. Monster Park

Kiwi Inc is a newcomer to the building game genre, but they’ve already put out two quality titles with Woodland Adventures and Monster Park. Monster Park is very cool for a few different reasons – the graphics, the “monster tower”, and well… the monsters of course! This building game lets you build up and out instead of going with the top-down approach and it’s got a Pokémon feel to it as you really want to “collect” as many monsters as you can. It’s a great game, and you can pick it up …

  • Flipboard app sneaks into Android unofficially

When Samsung announced the Galaxy SIII, one of the things or apps that caught the attention many was Flipboard mobile app running on it. Flipboard in case you’re not aware is a very popular news reader app which was released for the iPad. For its Android iteration, it was mentioned that Flipboard will become available exclusive for the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Well, at least for a couple of months.

That’s not the case anymore today. If you can’t wait that long until the exclusivity to Galaxy S III expires, you can download the app right now on your Android smartphone. Thanks to the kind folks from XDA-Developers forum, the Flipboard .apk was shared and is probably enjoying tons of downloads as we speak.

Despite being unofficial, the Flipboard app runs smoothly as a butter on my Galaxy Note. The swipe gesture runs smoothly and news headlines have those large …

  • NBC Universal releases the Battleship: Destroyer Experience Movie Tie-In

As the summer blockbuster movies start to roll out, so do the movie tie-in games. NBC Universal is the latest to get in on the action with their new Android game called Battleship: Destroyer Experience. As most of you already know Movie Tie-In games can… well they can suck to be honest. As cool as a Battleship game might seem there’s a good possibility it will sink like a stone.

The Battleship: Destroyer Experience looks to be a hidden object game of sorts that lets you roam around the USS John Paul Jones destroyer from the movie. The ship is decked out with the latest in high-tech gear and you’ll have to explore four environments to find hidden clips from the film. The “game” has 16 exclusive clips hidden throughout the ship; there are four in each environment and you can explore things with multiple camera angels throughout the ship. …

  • Undead Fun with Zombro for Android

Zombies are a lot of fun, but seldom are they seen as “cute”… usually you’re just blowing their brains out. Zombro is set to change that as the new Android game from Making Fun Inc lets you play with a Zombie in a whole new way.

Zombro is a Zombie puzzler of sorts that puts you in the role of Zombro a little Zombie who’s falling to pieces. Your goal in the game is to help Zombro get from point A to point B and you’ll have to do that by detaching a few body parts. Can fit under that crawlspace? Not a problem for Zombro, he can just detach his legs and send them along first. Need to get into a tiny cave? Well you can send Zombo’s brain through the mazes to collect what you need. Your body parts can only move in certain ways, but you’ll need …

  • i-Free Innovations releases Zombie Granny for Android

Zombies and grannies are two things that generally don’t go well together, but don’t tell that to the i-Free Innovations team. Their new game Zombie Granny looks to combine the two into a super awesome puzzle game that lets you turn zombies into piles of ash.

Zombie granny is a physics-based puzzler that lets you burn zombies to death with deadly fireballs. The gameplay behind Zombie Granny is simple and reminiscent of another popular game called Cut the Rope. You’ll have to cut ropes and chains to try and get your fireball to the zombies so that you can destroy them as quick and efficiently as possible. Of course it’s not as simple as it seems (it never is) as you’ll have to use some tricky devices and you’ll even encounter a few bosses along the way. You’ll get some help from a few fun weapons as well, but you’ll …

  • Frozax Games releases Don’t Feed The Trolls for Android

The Bears are very hungry, but so are the Trolls. That’s the premise behind a new Android game from Frozax Games called Don’t Feed the Trolls which lets you fed some friendly bears while putting the smack down on groups of nasty trolls.

The concept behind Don’t Feed the Trolls is a simple one as you just need to keep the bears fed, and keep the trolls beat down. Any time you see a bear pop up onto the screen you simply need to tap it to feed it. If you see a troll you’ll want to slice it ala Fruit Ninja or just leave it alone. You’ll do this for a set amount of time per level, and you’ll only lose if you feed 3 trolls or miss feeding 10 bears.  There are also many different kinds of bears & trolls including …

  • Take out Hordes of Dragons in Damn you Dragons! for Android

Dragons are known for a lot of things, like kidnapping princesses, breathing fire and eating people. Damn you Dragons! That’s not my sentiment towards the creatures, it’s actually the name of a new Android game from VisionaryX the same folks that put out a very popular game called A Knights Dawn.

Damn you Dragons! lets you play a Viking sheep herder whose job is to protect his sheep from terrible dragons. The dragons fly at your flock and you’ll have to stop them with your mighty egg catching hammer and send them back to their makers. You can “block” shots with your hammer, and every time you do your hammer will store a shot. You can send those shots flying back towards the dragon by adjusting your aim and hitting the fire button; you can store several shots at a time, but can only kill a dragon with the same …

  • The Samsung Galaxy S3 has Officially Arrived!

The wait is finally over for all you Samsung fans out there (myself included) as the Galaxy 3 has finally arrived. Today Samsung introduced the world to their new super phone, but that wasn’t all Samsung had up its sleeve at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 event…

Samsung’s event started off a little as as we got treated with Muzak and floating bubbles which didn’t necessarily get me “hyped up” while I was waiting. At 2:04 things kicked off with a video presentation unveiling the phone with a mini-orchestra playing in the background. Nice close ups of the orchestra, people blowing bubbles, and some pigeons. After about 3 minutes of video montages JK Shin hit the stage, explained why the phone is so bad assed, and we finally got to see the phone and hear its actual name… The Samsung Galaxy S3.  Here’s a brief rundown of what we …

  • Top 5 New Platform Games for Android

Platform games have been around forever, and the genre is a personal favorite of mine. There are scores of new platform games released every month, but some are better than others. With that in mind we came up with a list of 5 new platform games you should be playing…

    1. Gunman Clive

There aren’t many western themed android games out there, but Gunman Clive is a great new one from Bertil Hörberg. You get to jump & shoot your way through 16 unique levels, and take on various bosses along the way. The game has a very cool sketched look to it which fits it perfectly and sets it apart from any other platformer I’ve played. It’s really one of those games you’ll just have to play to believe. There isn’t a free version available, but the full version is well worth the $1.99 price tag.

    2. Bean’s quest…

  • Gameloft Releases The Avengers Mobile Game for Android

Well we knew an Avengers game was coming from Gameloft, and it looks like it’s finally here. The Avengers the Mobile Game is live on Gameloft’s website, and it’s not quite was I was expecting as they went old school instead of new school.

The Avengers lets you play as different members of the team including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Incredible Hulk. It follows the events of the upcoming movie and lets you take on Loki in richly detailed environments (their words not mine) with exciting gameplay based on an extensive battle system. There game has two modes of play with Campaign and Mission mode, but I’m unsure how many levels there at this time. We’ve seen several movie tie-in games, and Gameloft really knocked it out of the park with TinTin so how does The Avengers look? Well, as you can see from the screenshots they …
